Marcos to visit Vietnam in January
MANILA, Philippines — President Marcos’ state visit to Vietnam is scheduled for January next year.
“We look forward to President Marcos’ state visit to Vietnam in January next year, where he and President Vo Van Thuong could meet to discuss how to raise our bilateral ties to even greater heights,” Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo said yesterday during the 10th meeting of the Philippines-Vietnam Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation (JCBC) in Hanoi.
Manalo’s trip to Hanoi is his first official bilateral visit to a fellow Association of Southeast Asian Nations member-state as foreign affairs secretary.
The Philippines and Vietnam will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Strategic Partnership in 2025. The 50th year of the establishment of diplomatic relations will be celebrated in 2026.
