CEBU, Philippines — The Department of Education in Central Visayas would conduct its own investigation against a public schoolteacher who was accused of molesting two female students in Carcar City.

DepEd-7 Director Salustiano Jimenez, in an interview over GMA Super Radyo DYSS, said he will send a legal team to conduct the investigation.

Jimenez said the criminal complaints filed before the Carcar City Police Station would stay as their office would conduct a parallel investigation on the administrative aspect.

The DepEd-7 chief said that once proven, the accused will be dismissed from service.

One of the girls, a 15-year-old Grade 8 student, revealed that on July 20, 2023 at one o'clock in the afternoon, her Mathematics teacher called her to help him with his paper works at the faculty room.

When she arrived at the faculty room, the teacher allegedly fondled her breast and swept her skirt and touched her genitals, telling her not to make any noise.

The student was able to run out of the room when the teacher's wife called over the phone.

After the incident, she reported to his father what her Math teacher did.

Another 15-year-old student also surfaced and complained that on March 30, 2023, the same teacher violated her.

She did not tell any of her classmates for fear that the Math teacher would hurt her.

She instead told her older sister about the incident. — Banat News (FREEMAN)
